This centrally located facility provides a staging point for Amazon’s new venture of providing and delivering grocery, and related, products. Because of the variety of the products and their storage and handling, different levels of temperature control/refrigeration are necessary. Ammonia was the practical refrigerant; an ammonia detection system was required to ensure employee safety. This job was built with an accelerated schedule. RMJ was allowed to assist with the design in order to procure all electrical equipment prior to the start of construction.
