The Scientex project consisted of all of the control wiring for the equipment used to manufacture shrink wrap. The wiring for our portion of this industrial project was installed primarily in gutters/wire ways and cable trays. These style raceways provide flexibility for future additions or changes due to process variations. Challenges on this project included; complexity, coordination and planning. The project was complex due to multiple termination points required for safety, monitoring and operational components. Coordination between contractors was a challenge as each had responsibilities associated with every part and piece of equipment. Planning, or more specifically pre-planning, was critical due to receiving partial shipments from different manufacturers at different times. Short durations were allowed for final terminations after initial preparations were made working only from shop drawings and schematics.
