This job was a fast-paced center for local logistic coordination. RMJ was involved with the owner and GC early on, starting in a design/assist capacity. This job was another that was performed in a partially occupied facility requiring staged employee moves and continuation of operations. It has new modular furniture capable of elevation changes and opaque glass (often referred to as black glass) that allows or restricts view from those outside the central “nerve center”, referred to as the “fish bowl” during construction. Along and in conjunction with the expedited schedule, challenges included retrofitting switchgear and the generator procurement and installation.
